Andy has a background in the health sciences completing his bachelor of physiology from Monash University in 2014. With a minor in plant science Andy had a keen in interest in health and nutrition and found himself helping people set up vertical gardens and planter boxes, making use of refurbished apple crates. He soon began teaching others how to setup up and manage edible gardens themselves and found he has a talent for teaching. He entered into his Master of Teaching and also completed an Advanced Diploma of Steiner Education graduating in 2020.

With over 10 years of teaching experience in the outdoors and in primary and secondary schools, Andy’s passion is now the foundation years of school - classes 1, 2 and 3, and he has entered onto his own class teacher journey at Garden House Steiner School in Hong Kong. He is an advocate for inspired and inclusive teaching that helps support the whole child, e.g. head, heart and hands, and not only part of the child, e.g. the head or intellect.

Andy continues to support initiatives in Australia and internationally.
